The Animals

Animals have always been awe inspiring to me. The way a lion saunters around slow and methodical, seemingly unthreatening, but then can flip a switch to earn the title "King of the Pridelands". Or the way a deer will freeze when you see them. They look at you with eyes that are overly aware and skittish, yet somehow seem to look into the depths of your soul. 

I could go on and on about all different kinds of animals and the feeling and atmosphere they create, but when you see one, you know. You know because there is something in the pit of our souls that sees the majesty of God in them... whether you can verbalize that or not. 

That's why I paint them.
